How Often Should You Get A Facial?
There are so many reasons to get a facial, and so few reasons not to. A great facial from a trained master esthetician will help your skin to breathe, remove toxins and dead skin cells, and leave you looking great – and while relaxing you at the same time! Anyone, young or old, can enjoy the benefits of facials.
But, how often should you get a facial? Is there too much of a good thing, in this case? Let’s take a look.
When and How Often You Should Get A Facial
Generally speaking, the older you are, the more often you should get facials.
For younger people, such as those in their teens or twenties, their skin is already naturally resilient. As long as they’re following a good skin care regime at home and making sure to wash their face regularly with high-quality soap and water, they only really need to get a facial every two months or so. Their youthful looks will carry them the rest of the way!
For everyone else, especially people who are older than thirty, a monthly facial is a must. As your face ages, it starts becoming more susceptible to dirt and toxin build-up. Also, it becomes a lot harder to hide the signs of aging as they advance. A younger person’s skin is naturally soft, but that’s just not true of older people.
So, having monthly facials is a great way for you to counteract all these signs and problems associated with aging, and bring back a much more youthful look. Plus, facials are also wonderful stress relief. Young people don’t understand how stressful the real world can be and don’t need that same kind of pampering.
Is It Possible to Get Facials Too Often?
This is a subject of some debate, especially when so many people love the feel of facials! Unfortunately, it’s probably not a good idea to get facials any more often than every 3-4 weeks. The products and techniques used in a facial can potentially cause your skin to become overly sensitive if done too often.
However, this might change if your skin is particularly oily, or if you have other skin conditions. Your esthetician will let you know if you need frequent facials.
